Recreation
- Bicycling Discover challenging and scenic rides on 9 miles of off-road trails and 8 miles of horse trails. Always ride responsibly, stay on designated paths, and wear a helmet (required by law for cyclists under 16). The park closes at sundown, so plan accordingly.
- Birding Explore diverse habitats like sandhills, scrub, and waterways to spot a variety of birds, part of the Great Florida Birding & Wildlife Trail.
- Fishing Fish at Sand Lake or the Wekiva River. Follow Florida Fish and Wildlife regulations. A license may be required.
- Geocaching Join the high-tech treasure hunt using GPS devices. Enjoy minimal environmental impact and great rewards from exploring new places.
- Hiking Explore trails from 0.8 to 13.5 miles. Encounter diverse wildlife and enjoy scenic views. Maps are available at the ranger station.
- Horseback Riding Ride the 8-mile Tram Bed Horse Trail, with water available at Camp Big Fork. Proof of negative Coggins required. Trails close at sundown.
- Paddling Canoe or kayak the Wekiva River and Rock Springs Run. Rentals are available. Check the Paddle Wekiva Brochure for distances and plan your trip accordingly.
- Picnicking Picnic areas with tables and grills are available near the spring and Sand Lake. Alcohol is prohibited.
- Snorkeling and Swimming Swim and snorkel in the crystal-clear Wekiwa Springs, a consistent 72 degrees year-round. No diving or jumping allowed. No lifeguards on duty.
- Walking and Running Enjoy trails ranging from 0.8 to 13.5 miles. Encounter wildlife like Florida black bears and white-tailed deer. Bring essentials like water, snacks, and a cellphone.
- Wildlife Viewing Spot diverse wildlife along Main Park Drive, especially around sunrise and sunset.
Additional Amenities
- Accessible Amenities The park offers accessible campsites, restrooms, and a swim lift. Service animals are welcome.
- Concession and Restaurant Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering snacks, drinks, and essential items. Souvenirs available.
- Meeting and Retreats Rent the recreation or dining hall for group events. Reservations required (call 407-553-4383).
- Picnic Pavilion Rentals Two pavilions available for rent, each holding up to 100 people. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance. Call 407-553-4383 for details.
- Playground and Restrooms A playground is located near the pavilions. Restrooms are ADA accessible and located throughout the park.
